Opening its doors in early 2007, Recovery Innovations - California provides recovery-based services to adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. Recovery Innovations - California also conducts workshops on mental health recovery principles and practices and how to implement them throughout your organization. Recovery Innovations - California is building a peer workforce that is making a difference in California. At Recovery Innovations - California, we believe in the power of the peer experience. We train peers as Peer Support Specialists because it adds meaning and purpose to their lives by transforming their past experiences into healing for others. The use of Peer Support Specialists has been the most significant factor in moving recovery forward in individual lives as well as within our organization and the service system. Recovery Innovations - California offers a number of services that create opportunities to empower people and organizations to recover. Recovery education classes such as WRAP, WELL, and Medication for Success enable people to develop self-help skills. One-to-one Peer Support and recovery classes in the San Diego County Short Term Acute Residential Treatment (SART) crisis facilities provide people an introduction to recovery and community recovery links. Peer Employment Training and other recovery trainings for individuals and unique trainings for professional staff equip people and organizations with the tools to transform their operations to a recovery-based model. The Peer Liaison Services program assists people to advocate for their needs and rights by acting as a two-way conduit to gather and disseminate information between the Mental Health System of Care and people receiving services and their families.

At Recovery Innovations - California, we focus on wellness to maximize the growth of hope, knowledge, skills, and supports, allowing each person to move forward in their recovery. People discover the Recovery Pathways - hope, choice, empowerment, recovery environment, and meaning and purpose — and how to use them to feel better about themselves and develop their own plan for wellness.

Recovery Innovations - California was awarded Mental Health Program of the Year in San Diego, California for 2008.

San Diego County Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Services Administration also fund Recovery Innovations, California to put on the Wellness and Recovery Summit every year in the month of March; bringing hope to 500 people who receive mental health services and their clinical teams and supporters.
